Your OOO Checklist for the Holidays

Dec 11, 2025

Hey small biz bestie,

Are you looking forward to taking some time away from your biz at the end of the month? You definitely deserve it. But let’s make sure you can actually enjoy your time away… by making sure you set yourself up for sweet holiday success.

If you’re planning to take some time off at the end of the year, here are four things you need to prioritize on your business to-do list:

Set your OOO:

Make sure you let any current or potential customers know you’ll be out of office and when you’ll be back. Set up auto-replies on places like Instagram, Facebook, and your email. This way they don’t expect an immediate response and you can really take time away.

Press pause on products/services that won’t be available:

Disable purchase options for things that can’t be accessed while you’re out. For example, if you own a brick + mortar store and will be closed for the holidays, make sure to disable the “in-store pickup” option.

Update your biz hours:

This is extra important if you’ll be OOO at all during the holidays. Make sure your current hours are reflected in places like your website, social media, your Google Business profile, and anywhere else you list your hours. There’s nothing like showing up to a store only to find it closed (even though Google says it should be open).

Schedule your content:

This one shouldn’t come as a surprise, you knew we were going to tell you to batch your content. Sit down and create a few posts to get you through the end of the year so you don’t have to worry about it while you’re OOO. Need some help batching? Check out this blog.

Use these tips to help you really check out of the office for the holidays. Because remember, your business can only run as well as you do.
